India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022 is set to kick off on October 1 (Saturday) and the biggest highlight of this year's IMC is going to be the likely rollout of 5G services, headlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Telecom industry stalwarts Sunil Mittal, Mukesh Ambani and Kumar Mangalam Birla are also expected to make a beeline for the keynote address at the sixth edition of the IMC that will take place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from October 1-4.

Telecom major Reliance Jio also invited 5G enthusiasts to experience the first "Jio true 5G" demonstration at IMC 2022. The company tweeted on Thursday: "You are invited for the first Jio True 5G demonstration at India Mobile Congress. Join us and experience the new possibilities of 5G technology for India & all Indians. 1-4 October, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi."

Four operators placed bids during the spectrum auction namely, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vi (Vodafone Idea) and Adani Data Networks. Jio led with a total bid of Rs 88,078 crores. Airtel came in second with Rs 43,084 crores. Vi came in third with Rs 18,799 crores. And lastly, Adani Data Networks placed a bid of Rs 212 crores.
