Tech giant Google's most popular service, the search engine, was reportedly down on Tuesday for thousands of internet users. Outage tracking website Downdetector.com confirmed the global Google search engine outage. It said more than 40,000 incidents with Google Search were reported on August 9.

People in the US, the UK, Australia and Singapore reported issues with the Alphabet-owned Google search engine. As per a network intelligence company, ThousandEyes Inc, Google search engine outages affected at least 1,338 servers globally impacting more than 40 countries.

People went on Twitter and posted screenshots of the error being reflected on using the search behemoth. #GoogleDown also trended on Twitter with multiple users inquiring about the outage. During the outage, internet users attempting to use the Google search engine encountered a 502 or 500 error.

At the time of this report, there has been no statement or clarification provided by Google on the reported global outage.
