Xiaomi 12 Lineup With 50MP Triple Cameras, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Launched: Details

Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 12 series comprising the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X globally.

New Delhi: Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 12 series comprising the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X globally, months after unveiling the range in its home turf China. While the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro feature the top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and sport DisplayMate A+ OLED displays, the Xiaomi 12X will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset.

"Built on a 4nm process, this processor also boosts GPU graphic rendering capabilities by 30% and energy efficiency by 25% when compared to the previous generation. Meanwhile, Xiaomi 12X is powered by the flagship 5G processor -- Snapdragon 870 -- for smooth everyday usage. All three devices come with UFS 3.1 exceptional loading and data transfer speeds, along with LPDDR5 RAM for memory speeds up to 6,400Mbps," the company said in a statement.

A high point of the Xiaomi 12 series is the One-click AI Cinema that is available on all three devices, and it offers creative options for video editing, such as Parallel World, Freeze Frame Video, and Magic Zoom modes. The Xiaomi 12 Series packs high-performing cooling systems, paired with a super-large vapour chamber and multiple layers of graphite to offer cooling capabilities.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is the powerful flagship with a 6.73-inch QHD+ (1,440 x 3,200 pixel) LTPO AMOLED screen with 1,500 nits of peak brightness and a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus on top. It has a dynamic refresh rate that goes up to 120 Hz and 480 Hz touch sampling rate. The device features a triple camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX707 sensor with OIS as its main sensor, a 50MP portrait lens and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. For selfies, there is a 32MP camera. The device has a 4,600mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging and also reverse wireless charging capacity up to 10W. The price of the smartphone starts at $999 or roughly Rs 76,000 for the 8GB/256GB model.

The Xiaomi 12 has a smaller 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and atop is a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus. It features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset which is fitted on a smaller motherboard design. The device features a 4,500 mAh battery with fast-charging capacity of up to 67W. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide cam and a 5MP tele/macro camera. Xiaomi 12 has been priced at $749 or roughly Rs 57,000 for the 8GB/128GB model.

The Xiaomi 12X features a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and has the same triple rear camera setup as the Xiaomi 12 and the same battery capacity. The device is powered by the older Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The 5G device is priced at $649 or roughly Rs 49,400 for the base 8GB/128GB model.
