WWDC 2023: Apple May Release iOS 17 Today; When Will It Be Available For Download

We can expect iOS 17 to be available as a developer beta after Apple's WWDC keynote on Monday, June 5.

Apart from announcing hardware that includes "several Macs", according to Mark Hurman, Apple is highly likely to announce iOS 17 at the 2023 edition of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The tech giant is likely to unveil a range of new products and the company's much-awaited AR/VR headset. Apple traditionally, announces software offerings, including updated variants of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS at the annual WWDC conference.

When it comes to the release date of iOS 17, the latest version of iOS, we can expect iOS 17 to be available as a developer beta after Apple's WWDC keynote on Monday (June 5). It is pertinent to note that developer beta seed is available to only registered Apple developers. Apple has traditionally followed a predictable schedule and according to that it is likely to release a public beta of iOS 17, a few weeks after WWDC 2023. This means it may be rolled out by the end of June or the first few weeks of July, reports suggest.

Apple WWDC 2023 developers conference will begin on June 5 and run through June 9. According to the WWDC 2023 schedule, Apple will start the keynote on June 5 at 10 am PT or 10:30 pm IST.

The upcoming iOS 17 will then go through several rounds of beta seeds over the next few months before being officially rolled out globally, alongside the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 lineup this fall, which mostly lands around the second or third week of September.

Meanwhile, the details of Apple's much-awaited AR/VR headset were leaked last week ahead of the purported launch at WWDC23. Apple's XR headset is likely to have micro-OLED displays with a peak brightness of more than 5,000 nits, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. The leaked peak brightness in the display of Apple's XR headset is much higher than an iPhone 14 Pro's panel with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits.

It should be noted that as always, Apple has remained tight-lipped on what it plans to launch at the event.
