Apple Watch Capable Of Detecting Thyroid Early: Report

The heart rate notifications of the Apple Watch can detect symptoms of a thyroid condition early, according to an Australian nursing student.

New Delhi: The heart rate notifications of the Apple Watch can detect symptoms of a thyroid condition early, according to an Australian nursing student. According to a new posting on TikTok, it has been shown that the Apple Watch can detect early changes in Thyroid condition, months before it is diagnosed.

Posted earlier this month, TikTok user Lauren has urged viewers of her video to enable notifications for detecting low and high heart rates, irregular rhythms, and for cardio fitness levels. In the video, as spotted by The Independent, the Sydney-based nursing student admitted that she should've enabled the features earlier than she did, as it had medical consequences, according to a report published in the Apple Insider.

According to the nursing student, some of the key features of the Apple Watch have helped her in keeping her health in check.

Talking about the useful health features of the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Series that is likely to arrive later this year, may do away with the advanced sensors, such as those for measuring body temperature as well as blood sugar. According to Mark Gurman's "Power On" newsletter, it is unlikely that the Apple Watch Series 8 will house a body temperature sensor, a report suggested earlier this month.

Gurman wrote, "Don't expect any of these soon, though. Body temperature was on this year's roadmap, but chatter about it has slowed down recently. Blood pressure is at least two to three years away, while I wouldn't be surprised if glucose monitoring doesn't land until later in the second half of the decade."
