Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro India Launch On May 18, Company Confirms: Everything You Should Know

The vanilla Vivo X80 will pack in a 4500mAh battery while the Vivo X80 Pro will sport a 4700mAh battery.

New Delhi: Handset maker Vivo is set to refresh its Vivo X series in India on May 18. Vivo X 80 series comprising the Vivo X80 Pro will be officially launched in India on May 18 and it is likely that the company unveils the Vivo X80 alongside. The Vivo X80 series includes the Vivo X80 and the X80 Pro and both the models have been just launched in China and other regions worldwide. Some reports suggest that another model in the X80 series, the X80 Pro+ will be released later. The Vivo X80 Pro will compete with devices like the OnePlus 10 Pro and the newly-launched Xiaomi 12 Pro among others.

The Vivo X80 will be available in two variants: 8GB of RAM and 128GB of memory and 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. As the name suggests, the Vivo X80 will be a watered-down version of the Vivo X80 Pro. The company has shared an invite from its Twitter handle to confirm the launch. 

Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro specs and features

Both the Vivo X80 Pro and X80 will come with the same 6.78-inch AMOLED screen and a refresh rate of 120Hz albeit for a 2K display in the X80 Pro model. X80 comes with a Full HD+ display. Both the phones will run Vivo's proprietary Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box and both the models will sport a hole-punch cutout to house a 32MP front camera.

In terms of battery, the vanilla Vivo X80 will pack in a 4500mAh battery while the Vivo X80 Pro will sport a 4700mAh battery and both the models will support 80W fast charging and the latter will also support 50W wireless charging.

In terms of imaging, the Vivo X80 Pro will come with a quad-camera setup led by a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor with OIS along with a 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP portrait sensor and an 8MP periscope sensor with OIS. The Vivo X80 will settle with a triple-camera setup led by a 50MP Sony sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 12MP telephoto sensor.

Expected prices of Vivo X80 Pro and X80 

The Vivo X80 was launched in the company's home turf China for CNY 3,699 which is roughly Rs 42,300 for the 8GB/128GB variant while the Vivo X80 Pro was priced at CNY 5,499 which is roughly Rs 63,300 for the base 8GB/256GB variant. Both the models could be priced around the same range when they launch in India.
