Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic & Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE Have Reportedly Been Identified In GSMA Database
The GSMA IMEI database reportedly listed Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic under the model number SM-L505U, which aligns with Samsung's naming conventions for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra during the Galaxy Unpacked event in July, notably excluding Pro and Classic variants from the lineup. These smartwatches debuted alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, the South Korean tech giant now appears to be developing a new Classic smartwatch. A Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has reportedly been spotted in the GSMA database, hinting at its potential return with a rotating bezel.
Additionally, a Fan Edition model of the Galaxy Z Flip has also surfaced in the GSMA database. Both devices are rumoured to launch in the second half of 2025.
According to a report by Smartprix, the GSMA IMEI database listed the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic under the model number SM-L505U, which aligns with Samsung's naming conventions for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The publication shared a screenshot of the listing, confirming the smartwatch's name. Earlier this year, Samsung skipped releasing Classic or Pro versions with the Galaxy Watch 7 series, opting instead to offer the standard Galaxy Watch 7 in two sizes along with the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Previous Classic models have been popular for their iconic physical rotating bezel, which might make a comeback with this rumoured release.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE Might Soon See The Light Of The Day
The same report also identified the Galaxy Z Flip FE listed in the GSMA database with the model number SM-F761B. The "B" suffix in the model number is believed to denote the international variant of the device.
The Fan Edition model is anticipated to launch as a more affordable foldable smartphone, possibly alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 next year. It is rumoured to feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 series chipset.
Currently, Samsung’s foldable devices are powered by Snapdragon processors. For instance, the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.
