Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Vs S23 FE: What's New? Should You Upgrade? Price, Specifications Comparison

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a brushed-up version of the Galaxy S23 FE with a faster processor and a bigger display. But with similar cameras, is it worth the upgrade? Let's find out.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Vs S23 FE: Samsung has introduced its latest Galaxy S24 FE, packed with impressive features at a competitive price. But with the Galaxy S23 FE still a solid option, what's changed with the new release? And is it worth upgrading if you already own the S23 FE? Here's a head-to-head comparison of the two Fan Edition models to help you decide.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Camera Capabilities

On the camera front, not much has changed between the two models. Both the Galaxy S24 FE and S23 FE come with a 50-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 8x zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.

For selfies, both have a 10-megapixel front camera. Video enthusiasts can enjoy 8K recording at 24fps and 4K at up to 60fps on both devices.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Performance & Battery Life

Under the hood, the Galaxy S24 FE is powered by the new Exynos 2400e chipset, offering a potential boost in performance over the S23 FE’s Exynos 2200. Both models come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While we haven't seen real-world performance comparisons yet, the newer chipset is expected to deliver better overall speed and efficiency.

The S24 FE also comes with a larger 4,700mAh battery, compared to the S23 FE’s 4,500mAh, though both support the same 25W fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Design & Display

At first glance, the Galaxy S24 FE looks nearly identical to its predecessor, the S23 FE. Both phones feature a sleek design with minimal bezels and a large flat display, along with a vertical triple camera setup on the back. However, Samsung has upped the ante with a slightly larger 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the S24 FE, compared to the 6.4-inch display on the S23 FE. The S24 FE also boasts a brighter panel with a peak brightness of 1,900 nits, an upgrade from the S23 FE’s 1,450 nits.

Another improvement is the front protection, with the S24 FE equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus+, a step up from the Gorilla Glass 5 used on the S23 FE. Both models support a 120Hz refresh rate and full-HD+ resolution for a smooth viewing experience.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Software & Updates

One of the major upgrades in the S24 FE is its software. It runs on the latest Android 14 right out of the box and is promised seven years of software updates, ensuring longevity until 2031. In contrast, the S23 FE, which launched with Android 13, will receive updates until 2027. Both devices include Samsung’s Galaxy AI features like Live Translate and Note Assist, along with the Knox Vault for enhanced security.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE brings a bigger display, a brighter screen, a new processor, and a larger battery.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs S23 FE: Price

You can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE at Rs 59,999 for the base 8GB + 128GB model.

The Galaxy S23 FE, on the other hand, is now priced at Rs 30,999 for the same storage configuration.

The choice is a no-brainer, really. If you want a phone with a bigger display but have no qualms about having a great camera, you can go with the Galaxy S24 FE.

However, I'd advise you to go with the S23 FE as it has a similar camera and the 6.4-inch display is not really small for personal display needs. Considering that it is less than Rs 31,000 during the ongoing online sales, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a steal right now.
