New Delhi: The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup will launch in India on February 17 at a virtual event that will kick off at 12:30pm. The Samsung Gaalxy S22 lineup comprises three models: the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22. Prices of the Samsung Galaxy S22 line are likely to start at Rs 75,000-Rs 110,000, which is a tad bit higher than last year's Galaxy S21 series. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G launched last year came at a starting price of Rs 1,05,999. However, there has been no details about the launch of the Galaxy Tab S8 Series at the time of writing this article.

The new Samsung Galaxy S22 series and the Galaxy Tab S8 series can be pre-booked in India, the company had announced last week, a day after officially launching the lineup globally. Prospective buyers can pre-book the Galaxy S22 lineup by paying Rs 1, 999 as a refundable upfront price. The pre-reserve window is live on the Samsung India website until February 21. Buyers who have pre-booked the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ can avail of all the pre-booking offers as well as a free Galaxy SmartTag.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is made of a metal frame that creates a mirrored effect, courtesy of the glass and haze finish. The design language has a floating layout and sharp angles, similar to that of the Galaxy Note series. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has been unveiled in four colour options: Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, and Burgundy.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has been launched in four storage options: 8GB/128GB, 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB.

In terms of specs, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution topped with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is curved and it is also the brightest screen on a smartphone ever with a peak brightness of 1750 nits. There is an LTPO panel that, depending on the on-screen content, intelligently lets the display switch between 1Hz and 120Hz refresh rate.

In terms of specs, both the Galaxy S22+ and the vanilla Galaxy S22 come with a rear triple-camera setup led by a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x zoom. For selfies, both the models feature a hole-punch cutout that houses a 10MP front camera.
