Oppo May Offer Free Battery Replacement Soon
A tipster named Whylab has mentioned that Oppo, under the after-sales programme, will also offer a replacement if the battery’s health declines below 80 per cent within four years of buying the device.
Handset maker Oppo is likely to introduce a free battery replacement programme for its buyers and the OEM may start with the Oppo A2 Pro 5G smartphone. According to famed tipster Digital Chat Station, the company is set to launch a four-year free battery replacement scheme soon, as spotted by Gizmo China. Another tipster named Whylab (translated from Chinese) has mentioned that Oppo, under the after-sales programme, will also offer a replacement if the battery’s health declines below 80 per cent within four years of purchasing the handset. This will be an upgrade from the current one or two-year warranty period that is offered by most smartphone OEMs.
Leakster Whylab has mentioned that Oppo is likely to announce the new programme alongside the launch of the Oppo A2 Pro 5G smartphone.

This is similar to what OnePlus announced for its users in India after several OnePlus users were impacted by a "green line issue" on the OLED panels after installing the OxygenOS 13.1 update last month. Acknowledging the issue, OnePlus had announced that affected users could get their phone screens replaced for free as many times as they want, but only in India.
"We realize that this issue has caused a great deal of inconvenience to the affected users, and we apologize for it. In line with our unwavering commitment, we encourage users to visit the nearest OnePlus service centre for device diagnosis, and we will provide free screen replacement for all devices affected by the situation," a OnePlus India spokesperson had told ABP Live in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Oppo A2 Pro 5G smartphone was recently spotted listed in the database of China Telecom’s product library. Going by the listing of the device, the phone may be available in three storage configurations: 8GB RAM/256GB storage, 12GB RAM/256GB storage and 12GB RAM/512GB storage.
The phone is likely to come with a triple rear camera setup, dominated by a 64MP primary sensor and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The Oppo A2 Pro 5G smartphone may feature a hefty 5,000mAh battery too.
