JioPhone 5G Budget Phone With Android Go, Jio 5G Services May Be Launched At Reliance AGM 2022 Next Week

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance is likely to make two big announcements on August 29, which are the launch of Reliance Jio 5G services and JioPhone 5G in India.

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries is reportedly slated to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) on August 29 and the company is likely to make two big announcements which are the launch of Reliance Jio 5G services and JioPhone 5G in the country. It is likely that Ambani also provides details on when and how the rollout of 5G services for consumers would be made available to users. The first phase of the commercial rollout of 5G services is likely to take place in October, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Thursday.

What to expect from the JioPhone 5G

With the rollout of Jio 5G services, it is likely that the JioPhone 5G smartphone gets launched under Rs 12,000. According to a report, the JioPhone 5G may be priced between Rs 9,000-Rs 12,000. It is expected that the company also brings easy financing options with the device that could make it more affordable, similar to what we have seen it doing with the JioPhone Next in 2021.

According to a previous report by Android Central, in terms of specs, the JioPhone 5G would come with Android 11 (Go edition), since it would be an entry-level device. It could sport a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1,600 pixels) IPS panel with an aspect ratio of 20:9. There could be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC powering the smartphone, coupled with 4GB of RAM.

In terms of imaging, the JioPhone 5G would offer a dual rear camera setup led by a 13MP primary sensor with autofocus paired with a 2MP macro sensor. Other specs of the JioPhone 5G is likely to include a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging via a a USB Type-C port charging. There may be a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
