iPhone 16 Pro Might Hit The Market With The Thinnest Bezels Ever: Report

Earlier Apple used low-injection pressure overmolding (LIPO) technology to do this magic in the iPhone 15 Pro to slim its bezels down by 1.5 millimetres.

We are slowly nearing the expected launch of the iPhone 16 series. The upcoming series is likely to bring several major upgrades including the Pro model boasting the slimmest bezels ever seen on a smartphone. As per Ice Universe, the Pro models are likely to come with the slimmest bezels ever by beating the record of iPhone 15 Pro and devices from competitors like Samsung. The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are also expected to see an increase in size. In fact, the Pro model is expected to go from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, and the Pro Max model might be the biggest iPhone, measuring 6.9 inches, which is an increase from 6.7 inches.

Apple is on its way to achieving this due to the possible adoption of Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology. This technology will let users have a more efficient layout of under-display circuitry, enabling slimmer bezels. There has not been any official confirmation regarding the adoption of this tech but, two leaks so far have hinted at the iPhone maker adopting BRS for the iPhone 16 series.

iPhone 16 Series: Other Improvements (Expected)

This year, Apple is anticipated to take the display upgrade to the next level with a major improvement. There are also big improvements speculated in Camera and overall processing power. The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max is likely to feature the new Sony IMX903 sensor, boasting 48-megapixel. The Ultra Wide camera on both Pro and Pro Max models will also see a significant upgrade to 48 megapixels, which will improve the performance in low-light and also improve the overall image quality through pixel binning technology.

The iPhone 16 Pro is likely going to have the improvement in its telephoto camera as a response to the Pro Max, sporting a 12-megapixel camera with 5x optical zoom to level the playing field. Earlier, the Pro variant was less inclined towards zooming than the Pro Max.

Apart from camera enhancements, there are rumours that the iPhone 16 Pro series is also envisioned to have numerous design enhancements like the no-button interface that will be transparent and will be inclusive of the touch and feel haptic designs and possibly installed with a dedicated video shooting button. It’s possible that the Action button might be a common feature across all the games in the series. Of course, the company is expected to launch new front panels with larger displays, with thinner frames than the predecessors, and built-in A18 Pro chips.
