iPhone 15 Pro And Pro Max Models With Bezel-less Panels May Not Be Delayed
Apple is mulling to significantly reduce the size of the bezels around the display this year and that has caused production woes.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models were said to be delayed due to a "severe crunch" in the wake of production woes with displays. However, a new report claims that the panels for the iPhone 15 Pro models are no longer in shortage. South Korean major LG Display has resolved the display woes which indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro line would not get delayed this year. Apple is likely to launch the iPhone 15 series this fall, continuing with its tradition of refreshing its iPhone lineup at that time of the year. However, a recent report in The Information said, citing two sources having direct knowledge of the problem, that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models could face severe supply shortages in September as Apple is making changes to the display.

Cupertino-based Apple is mulling to significantly reduce the size of the bezels around the display this year and that has caused production woes. According to a report by Korean publication The Elec, the tech giant is working towards introducing a "bezel-less" display and it has asked its display partners Samsung and LG Display to make flat OLED screens with no bezels. Apple's display partners would be required to upgrade the thin film encapsulation (TFE) and under-panel camera (UPC) technologies to make bezel-less panels.
Earlier, South Korean tech giant Samsung was the exclusive supplier of displays, but last year LG split the orders of displays with it for the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Meanwhile, the delay in the launch of the iPhone 15 line until October has been predicted by an analyst with Bank of America (BoA). The global securities analyst with BoA named Wamsi Mohan has recently said that the official unveiling of the iPhone 15 series could be delayed by a "few weeks" which means we would not see the iPhone 15 series launch in September. Mohan, in a research note shared with Barrons mentioned that the launch could take place in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2023, as spotted by MacRumors.
