iPhone 15 Reportedly Spotted On BIS Certification Website Ahead Of Expected Launch Next Month

Apple iPhone 15 has surfaced on the Indian regulatory database, BIS certification website ahead of an expected launch in September.

Apple iPhone 15 has surfaced on the Indian regulatory database, BIS certification website ahead of an expected launch in September. The Apple device that has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database this week has model number A3094, as reported by MySmartPrice. The model spotted on the BIS database is said to be from the iPhone 15 lineup that is slated to be launched next month. It should be noted that the listing does not provide confirmation of what kind of device it is, but it is said to be an unreleased iPhone model. This development comes a day after reports said that the tech giant has started assembling the iPhone 15 in India.

As far as details of the model listed on the BIS database, the model Apple A3094 has been certificated under "mobile phones" product category, the report added.

The iPhone 15 series is likely to comprise four models, the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Multiple leaks and rumours suggest that years after Android smartphones, Apple is said to start with equipping USB-C on iPhone 15 lineup. According to the first look of an alleged port attached to flexible PCB assemblies, we can say that the iPhone 15 series would come with USB-C instead of a lightning cable.

Apple's Greg Joswiak had confirmed last year that the company would equip iPhones with USB Type-C, to comply with the EU's laws. Similar claims have been made by famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has mentioned that Apple would bid adieu to lightning cable in favour of USB-C.

Apple, in a shift from China and diversifying its manufacturing base, has started the assembly phase of its much-anticipated iPhone 15 in the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, news agency Bloomberg reported. Apple currently manufactures iPhone models in India along with partners Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron which is in the process of being acquired by the Tata Group. Apple is also set to begin assembling AirPods in India. The tech giant manufactures non-Pro iPhones in the country and it is now set to assemble AirPods locally, says a report by news agency PTI.
