Apple has decided to cut down on the production of the iPhone 14 Plus due to the low demand for the model.
Apple has decided to cut down on the production of the iPhone 14 Plus due to the low demand for the model. The iPhone maker has asked at least one Apple supplier to immediately halt production of the iPhone 14 and has also contacted two component suppliers to lower production of the iPhone 14 by up to 90 per cent, the media has reported.
Apple has also asked one of its suppliers to increase the production of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. The company is reassessing demand for the iPhone 14 Plus, says a report by GSMArena quoting The Information.
However, there has been no official comment from the tech giant on the development. It is being said that there has been a very low demand for the iPhone 14 Plus model which is a non-Pro model and yet costs $899. The starting price of the iPhone 14 Plus in India is Rs 89,900 for the 128GB storage variant.
The iPhone 14 Plus comes with a dual rear camera setup, comprising a 12MP main sensor and an ultra-wide camera. The camera module is supported by a ‘Photonic Engine’ that makes low-light photography significantly better. For selfies, both phones have a TrueDepth camera at the front with an f/1.9 aperture. The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus models offer video capture in 4K 30fps as well as 4K 24fps. The camera also features an inbuilt Action Mode that reduces shakes, motion, and vibrations to deliver a smoother recording experience.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus feature the classic notch from earlier models, the Pro variants have dropped the notch to go for a pill-shaped cutout, which Apple calls the "Dynamic Island". Apple claims that Dynamic Island offers a new way to interact with notifications and activities.
