Nokia-Maker HMD Launches Crest Lineup Of Phones In India: Prices, Specs, More

HMD, the Finnish mobile device manufacturer, on Thursday, July 25, introduced two new smartphones in India, minus the Nokia branding. The HMD Crest and Crest Max 5G are the latest additions to the company's lineup and come with 6.67-inch OLED screens and are available in three colour variants. Both models are equipped with Unisoc T760 5G processors and feature impressive 50-megapixel front-facing cameras for high-quality selfies.

HMD Crest Series Pricing

HMD has announced competitive pricing for its new smartphone offerings in India. The Crest model is introduced at Rs 12,999, while the Crest Max 5G comes in at Rs 14,999. These prices are part of a limited-time introductory offer, though the duration of this promotion hasn't been specified.

HMD Crest Series Colours

The Crest is available in three colour options: Midnight Blue, Lush Lilac, and Royal Pink. The Crest Max 5G offers a slightly different palette with Aqua Green, Deep Purple, and Royal Pink variants. Both models are set to be available for purchase through Amazon during its upcoming Great Freedom Sale event in August.

HMD Crest Series Specs And Features

The HMD Crest comes with a dual-camera configuration on the rear, while its sibling, the Crest Max 5G, ups the ante with a triple-camera setup. Both devices are powered by robust 5,000mAh batteries, ensuring extended usage times. Additionally, HMD has incorporated user-friendly self-repair options, making maintenance more accessible for owners.

HMD has equipped both the Crest and Crest Max 5G with the Unisoc T760 5G chipset, built on a 6nm process. According to the manufacturer, this processor delivers impressive performance, achieving over 510,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark.

Both smartphones run on a clean version of Android 14, free from pre-installed third-party applications or bloatware. HMD has committed to providing security updates for these devices for a period of two years, ensuring ongoing protection and stability for users. This configuration aims to offer smooth performance, efficient multitasking, and a pure Android experience, coupled with the assurance of continued software support.

Regarding specifications, both the Crest and Crest Max 5G feature a 6.67-inch full-HD+ OLED display and run on Android 14. 

The Crest comes with 6GB of physical RAM and 128GB of storage, complemented by 6GB of virtual RAM expansion. The Crest Max 5G steps up to 8GB of physical RAM and 256GB of storage, with the ability to add 8GB of virtual RAM. These devices aim to provide a balance of performance, storage, and display quality at their respective price points in the competitive Indian smartphone market.
