New Delhi: As many parts of the country reel under intense heatwave and temperatures soar, we need to be extra careful of ourselves and especially our gadgets as they do not have a way of keeping themselves cool. Smartphones and laptops may become slower when they heat up and that is because they have chipsets inside them and they reduce the power they use in order to stop overheating.

In fact, batteries powering smartphones struggle to often cool down when they are overused or exposed to extra heat. We bring you top five tips that will help you keep your beloved gadgets safe and cool in this scorching heat.

Turn off to cool down

If you gadgets or smartphone feels too hot too touch, a wise thing to do is switch them off and leave them aside in a cool area and wait for it to return to cool temperature. 

No charging outdoors

It is advisable to not charge your devices or smartphones outside when temperatures soar as the temperature of most devices rise when they are charged. Charging them outside will only lead to overheating due to the high environmental temperatures.

Do not overcharge your gadgets

Overcharging smartphones and other gadgets is a strict no as it could lead to damaged batteries and eventually faster battery drain.

Invest in a laptop cooling stand

Investing in a laptop cooling stand is a nice way to prevent your laptop from overheating while working. Additonally, if one can manage to ensure power supply to the cooling stand through an external source and not the laptop itself, it will help save the battery too.

Do not keep the in direct sunlight

It is advisable not to keep your smartphones and laptops under direct sunlight in this scorching heat. Overexposure to high temperatures may lead to damaged batteries and other internal components.
