The anticipation around the launch of the Google Pixel 8a is growing, courtesy of the leaks and rumours. The smartphone has now appeared on the Bluetooth SIG website, suggesting an imminent launch. Furthermore, leaked specifications and availability details have also been spotted. Now, a tipster has also revealed the full purported specifications and the expected launch timeline of the Google Pixel 8a, which will succeed the Pixel 7a.

The recent leaked specs align with previous revelations, hinting at significant upgrades compared to the Pixel 7a (read our full review here). The Pixel 8a's display is anticipated to feature 1400 nits of peak brightness and HDR support. It will be powered by the Mali-G715 GPU. Design leaks suggest a Pixel 8 series-inspired appearance for the Pixel 8a, featuring a visor-like camera strip and curved edges.

Google Pixel 8a Price In India, Colours And Launch Date (Expected)

The smartphone is rumored to be priced between $500 and $550, which translates to approximately Rs 41,635 in India. However, prices may vary across different markets.

Previous reports suggested that the base variant of the Pixel 8a is rumoured to have a starting price of EUR 570 (approximately Rs 51,000) with 128GB of storage, while the 256GB storage variant may be priced at EUR 630 (around Rs 56,000). The phone is expected to be available in Bay (Light Blue), Mint (Light Green), Obsidian (Black), and Porcelain (Beige) colour choices.

Google unveiled the Pixel 7a in May last year during the Google I/O event, and it's anticipated that the Pixel 8a will follow a similar launch timeline. This year's Google I/O event is confirmed to be held on May 14, 2024.

According to the FCC listing, the Pixel 8a is set to include wireless charging and various connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, 5G, and mmW. The listing hints that the launch might be imminent.

Based on previous leaks, the Pixel 8a is expected to sport a 6.1-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and could be powered by Google's Tensor G3 SoC with 8GB of RAM. It is rumoured to come with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 27W wired fast charging and could have dimensions of 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9mm.
