Lenovo AI Laptop With Rollable Display: Price, Specifications

The standout feature of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 laptop is its rollable display, which can extend vertically at the press of a button. A motorised mechanism pushes the screen upward, unrolling it over the main chassis. While rollable displays have largely been confined to concepts, Lenovo has taken the bold step of introducing a functional product, generating both excitement and curiosity.

However, the steep $3,500 (approximately Rs 2,97,500) price tag may put it out of reach for most consumers. Still, with the PC market craving fresh innovations, rollable displays could be the next big thing after foldables.

The laptop itself features a standard 14-inch screen that expands to a 16.7-inch display when unrolled, creating a striking and unconventional appearance. Powered by an Intel Core Ultra processor, the device is designed for performance, though it offers limited connectivity ports, necessitating the use of an external hub.

Questions about the durability of the motorised hinge and the screen's longevity remain, but Lenovo's decision to launch the product suggests confidence in its reliability. Windows will also need to adapt to support this novel form factor effectively, likely improving as the technology evolves and reaches consumers in the months ahead.
