Now, at a quick glance, the Apple Watch SE 2 might appear identical to the OG Apple Watch SE. However, a closer look reveals subtle differences that make the Apple Watch SE 2 a slightly better offering from Apple.

The new Apple Watch SE 2 has been launched in a GPS model and a Cellular variant. In the US, Apple Watch SE 2 (GPS) price starts at $249, while the Apple Watch SE 2 (Cellular) price starts at $299.
In India, the GPS model of the Apple Watch SE 2 starts at Rs 29,900.
In comparison, the first-generation Apple Watch SE was also launched in GPS and Cellular variants. While the GPS model was priced at $279, the Cellular model was launched at $329 — nearly $30 costlier than the newest Apple Watch SE.

The first-generation of Apple Watch came in three colour options in terms of the watch body — Silver, Grey, and Gold. Of course, there were ample options of watch bands to choose from, considering both in-house and third-party offerings.
Apple Watch SE 2, comes in slightly different three colour options — Midnight, Starlight, and Silver.

Both the generations of Apple Watch SE come with the same-sized OLED screens, digital crowns, and pebble-shaped aluminium cases. However, the Apple Watch SE 2 is touted to feature redesigned back case made of a nylon composite material, which makes the new wearable a whole lot lighter.
In terms of primary differences, the Apple Watch SE 2 is powered by the S8 SiP advanced dual-core processors — the same as the newly launched Apple Watch Series 8 — which makes it 20 percent faster than the previous generation. Additionally, it will also get some other handy Series 8 features, such as Crash Detection and global roaming.
