Apple's Foldable iPhone Might Feature A 7.74-Inch Screen, Here's What Else We Know
According to the leak, Apple's foldable iPhone is expected to include a 5.49-inch cover display—the same size as the outer screen found on the first-generation Oppo Find N.

Apple is reportedly developing a foldable iPhone that could compete with similar devices from Samsung, Oppo, and Huawei, according to multiple reports. A tipster on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging site, has leaked details about the device’s inner and outer displays, suggesting that Apple’s foldable iPhone may feature a book-style design with an "unprecedented" screen ratio.
While the company has not officially confirmed any plans to release a foldable phone, it has secured patents for technologies that could be utilized in such a device.
Apple's Foldable iPhone: Display (Expected)
Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) recently shared that Apple’s foldable model is expected to have a design reminiscent of Oppo’s Find N series, featuring a shorter yet thicker build. According to the leak, the device will include a 5.49-inch cover display—the same size as the outer screen found on the first-generation Oppo Find N.
According to the tipster, Apple’s foldable iPhone will feature a 7.74-inch internal display, describing it as one that "unfolds like [an] iPad," providing a larger screen for content consumption. The device is also expected to have an "unprecedented screen ratio or aspect ratio." Digital Chat Station suggests that Apple’s rumoured foldable could serve as both a smartphone and a tablet, potentially placing it in direct competition with book-style foldable models such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series and Oppo’s Find N lineup.
Earlier this month, another leak hinted that Apple’s first foldable phone might debut as soon as next year, while foldable versions of the iPad and MacBook could arrive by 2027. Additionally, a recent report indicates that Apple has secured an ultra-thin glass supplier, presumably for use in an upcoming foldable device.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported that Apple is developing an iPad-like foldable with no visible crease. According to him, this device could make its debut in 2028. While Apple has not officially disclosed any plans for a foldable device, more details about its rumoured projects may emerge in the near future.
