Popular creators on Twitter may get ad revenue share as soon as "within the next 72 hours", the media has reported. However, it will be applicable to only those paying for the premium Twitter Blue service. Also, Twitter Blue subscribers would need a significant number of followers to get payment.
Some high-profile users report today they’ve received notifications about incoming deposits -- including one user claiming he’s set to receive over $24,000. The rewards are based on ads in replies to eligible users’ content, says a report by news agency Reuters. Twitter's new boss and tech billionaire Elon Musk had launched in February Twitter's ad-revenue sharing programme.

The company had said select content creators on the social media platform will be eligible to get a part of the advertising revenue the company earns. According to Twitter's creator ads revenue sharing page: "We’re expanding our creator monetization offering to include ads revenue sharing for creators. This means that creators can get a share in ad revenue starting in the replies to their posts. This is part of our effort to help people earn a living directly on Twitter."
It is to be noted that Twitter's revenue-sharing programme applies to Verified Organizations or Twitter Blue subscribers with at least five million post impressions in each of the past three months.

This is being seen as a move to make Twitter compete with rivals and make it a better monetisation platform.
Recently, Meta-owned Instagram Threads was launched that hit a record registrations and is being touted as a rival to billionaire Musk-owned Twitter. The platform will let users share mini-posts, just like Twitter, but it will leverage all the elements from Instagram, including usernames, followers, and others.
