Russian Man Trains AI To Find 'The One' From Over 5,200 Women On Tinder, Bot Flirts On His Behalf

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been growing exponentially in the past two years. A number of people have been trying their hands on AI to make their lives easier. The involvement of AI is getting so deep-rooted nowadays that we are using it to make it write simple festival wishes that we will send to our loved ones. We are integrating it in numerous aspects of our life including our dating life. Yes, you will find plenty of people who will be using pick-up lines that they would have got using AI. 

A recent example of a Russian man has taken over social media like wildfire. According to Russian news agency RIA Novosti, the 23-year-old software developer named Alexander Zhadan used ChatGPT and other AI bots to filter out any potential bad matches on Tinder till he found his 'The One'. Within a year, he came across more than 5,200 girls who were also looking for their match on the dating platform. 

How Did Zhadan Do This?

While narrating the whole one-year story, Zhadan said, "I gave ChatGPT information about how I communicate. At first, there were problems because the program didn't know me, it could write some kind of nonsense, but later I trained it to such an extent that it began to interact with girls like me."

He also shared the whole experience on Twitter and wrote, "I was looking for a girl on Tinder in Moscow and St. Petersburg. After a couple of weeks of correspondence, I went on dates, but they went to a dead end. Characteristic disadvantages were revealed (drinks a lot, there is stiffness, emotional swings). Yes, this is the initial impression, but it repulsed me. I decided to simplify communication with girls via GPT. In 2022, my buddy and I got access to the GPT-3 API (ChatGPT didn’t exist yet) in order to log scripted messages via GPT in Tinder. And I searched for them according to the script, so that there were at least 2 photos in the profile."

He added, "In addition to searching, GPT could also rewrite after the mark. From 50 autoswipes we got 18 marks. GPT communicated without my intervention based on the request 'You’re a guy, talking to a girl for the first time. Your task: not right away, but to invite you on a date.' It’s a crutch and not very humane, but it worked."

He then narrated the whole process of integrating AI into this search of his. 

Soon, Zhadan met a woman of his dreams named Karina in real life. However, he continued to use the AI platform for his correspondence with her. He said, "When Karina and I met live, I realized that it was possible to stop this system, and retrained her as an analyst of correspondence with Karina." He added that the neural network told him where to go with the girl and what to say in a given situation. 

The software developer said that it was at the end of 2023 that ChatGPT recommended he propose to Karina. ChatGPT told him that "their relationship is balanced and strong".

As per Zhadan, Karina was unaware of the role AI played in her relationship. She found out about it only after they had submitted their applications to the registry office there. He said that his now-wife "reacted calmly" after finding out about the truth.

He added that it is possible to create a programme that can help anyone find their 'ideal partner'. He said, "You need to understand the economics, how and where it is integrated, but the creation of such a program can be allowed with many features. What I have done is a personal product."
