I'm Atheist But See God In Every Fisherman Who Saved Lives During Cyclone: Udhayanidhi

Expressing gratitude to the fishermen who played a crucial role in rescuing people during Cyclone Michaung, Udhayanidhi Stalin, despite identifying as an atheist, emphasized seeing the divine in these individuals. He remarked, "he saw god in every fisherman who saved the lives of people just like god does". Udhayanidhi Stalin said while felicitating fishermen who saved lives and distributed relief materials to those affected by Cyclone Michaung.
On Wednesday, Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "The fishermen saved many lives by risking their own lives. The government can provide relief material but it can be distributed only with the help of the fishermen.”
“I’m an atheist but I see god in every fisherman who saved the lives of people just like god does. It's god who saves lives and those who save lives are like god," he said.

The event organized by the Department of Fisheries in Chennai recognized 1200 fishermen who aided government relief efforts during the floods in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram districts caused by Cyclone Michaung.
Later, Udhayanidhi taking to X said, "Our fisherman friends are the first to come to the field to save people in any calamity be it storm, rain or flood. Recently in northern districts including Chennai and southern districts like Thoothukudi-Nellai, when floods hit, fishermen's friends risked their lives and carried out rescue operations."
