‘They Should Be Brave, Not Act Like Puppy’: K’taka LoP Siddaramaiah On Controversial Statement
Earlier, Siddaramaiah said, CM Bommai and others (Karnataka BJP leaders) are like puppies in front of PM Modi.
Chennai: Two days after making a controversial statement by calling CM Bommai and others (Karnataka BJP leaders) as ‘puppies’, Karnataka LoP Siddaramaiah created another controversy by defending his statement. While defending the statement, the former CM said that by ‘puppy’ he meant that the CM and other leaders should be brave and ‘not act like a puppy’.
On Friday, Karnataka LoP Siddaramaiah said, “I did not call him a puppy. I said that they must have the courage to speak in front of national leaders. For the betterment of the state, they must talk to the Union leaders boldly. They should be brave, and should not act like a puppy.”

Earlier, Siddaramaiah said, “CM Bommai and others (Karnataka BJP leaders) are like puppies in front of PM Modi. You all shiver in front of him. In the 15th pay commission, the recommendation was to give Rs 5,495 cr to Karnataka as a special allowance, but our FM Sitharaman didn't provide it.”
The controversial statement immediately drew criticism from the BJP members of Karnataka.
Reacting to the statement, CM Bommai said that dogs are faithful animals and so like a faithful dog he would be faithful to the people of the state. He said that he would do his job faithfully.
However, the other BJP members said that Siddaramaiah too "trembles before Rahul Gandhi".
