However, currently the two children are safe with their father while Thulasi stays at her maternal home in Andhra Pradesh.

Chennai: A viral video of a mother mercilessly beating her toddler after an altercation with her husband over an alleged extra-marital relationship has sent shock waves across the state.

A woman from Sindhur of Andhra Pradesh Thulasi married Vadivazhagan of Gingee in Villupuram district in 2016. Vadivazhagan was working from Chennai for the past three years while Thulasi settled in Mettur of Gingee district in 2019. The couple has two boy children-- Pradeep (1) and Gokul (3).

According to a report in ABP Nadu, Thulasi was reportedly talking to another man over the phone and this has led to an altercation between the couple. Vadivazhagan reportedly told her to stop interacting with the man. However, after the altercation, Thulasi instead reportedly beat Pradeep and took a video of the incident three months ago.

The report said that when Vadivazhagan saw the video and questioned Thulasi she left for her mother's home. The husband then circulated the videos that are doing the rounds on social media.

In the video, Thulasi was seen punching the toddler in the mouth even as the baby was crying. She also hit the child on the feet until the baby started crying out of pain. The video also showed Thulasi smiling at the kid while the baby was crying. The video has led to a shock wave in Tamil Nadu. However, currently, the two children are safe with their father while Thulasi stays at her maternal home in Andhra Pradesh, added the report.  Till now, no police complaint has been filed yet in connection with the incident.
