According to a report by news agency PTI, the accident took place in Tamil Nadu's Tirupathur district when the pick-up truck they were travelling in fell into a valley after the driver lost control over the vehicle.

The driver of the truck reportedly dozed off and lost control of the vehicle and rammed into an electricity pole. According to reports, the truck then toppled after hitting the pole and fell into the valley.

As many as 26 passengers were involved in the accident and the injured ones are currently undergoing treatment at Tirupathur government hospital.

Meanwhile, emergency teams have been rushed to the spot to help in the rescue operations.
