Tamil Nadu: Rape Survivor's Kin Arrested For Stabbing Accused Who Tried To Threaten Him
The accused threatened the man by demanding him to unite the girl and baby with him.
Chennai: A 27-year-old man was arrested for stabbing a rape accused in Kinathukadavu on Friday.
According to a report on Times of India, a 26-year-old man was arrested for 'marrying' and impregnating a 15-year-old girl under POCSO Act. However, the issue came to light after the survivor delivered a baby few months back at a government hospital. Soon, the hospital learning about her age, sent the baby to a government-run home in Dharmapuri district.
The survivor was sent to another shelter in Coimbatore. However, three months back the rape accused was released from Coimbatore prison.
The accused, who was released from jail, allegedly threatened the relative of the girl at knifepoint asking him to unite the survivor and the baby with him.

On Wednesday, the police ordered the minor girl, baby and the accused to be produced to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for a DNA test. The girl and baby were sent to their care center.
However, the man went to the survivor's relative's home in an inebriated state and threatened him at knifepoint. The accused asked the man to unite the girl and baby with him. However, the cousin snatched the knife and stabbed the accused.

According to the police, the accused suffered injuries in the head and was taken to CMCH for further treatment. He is reportedly responding to the treatment.
The police arrested the girl's cousin and further investigations on the matter is underway.
