Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission To Be Trusted With Recruitment For PSUs, Corporations & Authorities
The reform would ensure that the jobs are not allotted through bribery, TN Finance Minister said.
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government passed a bill in the Assembly on Friday to recruit candidates for some posts of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), state corporations, and other authorities through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
The legislation, Tamil Nadu Public Sevice Commission (Additional Functions) Act was introduced by Tamil Nadu Finance and Human Resources Management Minister Palanivel Thiaga Raja in the Assembly on Friday.
According to a report on The Hindu, the Minister during his address in the Assembly said, with the help of the legislation the professionalism in recruitment to these organisations could be maintained and the organisation could use their time to work towards the core tasks entrusted with them instead of undertaking the cumbersome process.
The Minister also said the reform would ensure that the jobs are not allotted through bribery and would help students prepare for the competitive exams.

The Bill was passed in the Assembly a day after former AIADMK Minister Rajenthra Balaji was arrested by the police for a job fraud. He was arrested for allegedly swindling lakhs of money from several aspirants with a promise of getting them a government job including in Aavin.
Even DMK Minister Senthil Balaji is accused of his involvement in a job scam between 2011 and 2015 in the AIADMK regime.
Meanwhile, the TNPSC exam would be held as planned on Saturday. However, the exam scheduled for Sunday has been postponed to Tuesday due to the full lockdown imposed in the state to curb the spread of novel coronavirus.
