Tamil Nadu: Man Arrested For Sharing Private Photos Of Partner Online & Using Casteist Slurs Against Her
In the complaint, the woman said that Iman forced himself on her and took several private images which he later uploaded online.
Chennai: A 23-year-old man was arrested for uploading the private images of his partner on social media without her consent and using casteist slurs against her.
The police said, the accused was identified as Iman Hameeb, a worker at a textile manufacturing unit in Tirupur.
Based on the complaint, the police also booked the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, IT Act and SC/ST (Atrocities) Act, said a report on The Indian Express.
In the complaint, the woman said that she became a friend with Iman through Instagram and both of them got into a relationship. Later, the woman who was from Thirumanilayure in Karur district moved in with him after he promised to get her a job in Tirupur.

However, a few days later, Iman allegedly force the woman to convert to Islam but when she refused he reportedly sexually abused her and used casteist slurs against her.
In the complaint, she also said that Iman came home drunk every day and beat her. He also forced himself on her and took several private images. Recently, he uploaded the pictures on social media, she added.

Following this, the police arrested the accused under sections 354A (Sexual Harassment), 506(1) (Criminal intimidation) of IPC, SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2000. The police also remanded him in Tiruppur prison.
