Tamil Nadu Health Minister Warns Stern Action On Industries Violating Guidelines

CM MK Stalin to inaugurate 110 Oxygen beds in Tiruppur district on Sunday

Tiruppur: Tamil Nadu has seen a spike in Covid cases two weeks behind the other northern states. The Minister for Medical and Family Welfare in Tamil Nadu, Ma. Subramanian, said few industries have violated the lockdown guidelines due to which there has been spread of infection. The government had deployed surveillance teams to monitor industries and he further warned of a stern action on the industries which do not abide by state government's guidelines. on Saturday, the health minister was inspecting Tiruppur district and he met the district collector to further know the Covid sensitive regions in the district.

When asked about the vaccination situation in the state, he said, the Tamil Nadu Government will procure 23.5 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccines for Rs 85 crore. Besides this procurement from the centre is the 3.5 crore doses the state got through global tenders.

Subramanian said that June 5 is set as the deadline for submission of bids for the supply of 3.5 crore doses from the global tenders.

The minister said that the state had received 82.50 lakh doses from the Centre to vaccinate the 45+ age group. “On the advice of CM MK Stalin, MP TR Baalu has been camping in New Delhi to seek additional doses from the Centre,” said the Health Minister.
