LED Screens Installed To Live Stream Ayodhya Temple Event Being Taken Down, Sitharaman Slams DMK
Nirmala Sitharaman alleged that the removal of LED screens set up to watch Ram Mandir's Pran Pratishtha was a violation of the right to worship.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has raised concerns over alleged multiple incidents at temples in Tamil Nadu where plain-clothed policemen allegedly removed LED screens set up to telecast the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ayodhya Ram Mandir on Monday. Sitharaman alleged that the action infringed on the right to worship and criticized the state government for failing to protect the rights of citizens.
Taking to X, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Inside the famous Kamakshi Kovil, which is privately held, where bhajans have started from 08:00hrs, LED screens are being removed with plain-clothed policemen. In a temple, privately held, worshippers watching @PMOIndia perform prana prathishta is a serious infringement on our right to worship."
"The DMK government in TN completely fails to protect citizens rights. Anti-Hindu DMK now bares its hatred for PM @narendramodi
with police force and suppresses peoples aspirations," she said.

According to the Union Finance Minister, in the Kanchipuram district alone, 466 LED screens were set up for the live telecast of the Ayodhya ceremony. However, in over 400 of these locations, the police have either confiscated the screens or used force to prevent the live telecast.
She said the state created a climate of fear among LED suppliers who are reportedly fleeing due to concerns over their equipment. The Minister accused the Anti-Hindu DMK of targeting small businesses, terming the situation in Tamil as "வயித்திலே அடிப்பது" (Giving a big blow in the stomach).
