Kallakurichi Student Death: Class 12 Girl’s Body Laid To Rest After Final Rites
Further, JIPMER will study in detail the autopsy records of the girl and submit a final report in a month's time.
Chennai: The Class 12 student who died under mysterious circumstances at the campus of a private school in Kallakurichi was laid to rest after the last rites at her hometown in Periyanesalur of Cuddalore on Saturday. The last rites was performed by the father of the girl and along with him the mother, her relatives and villagers were also present in the final rites.
The body of the girl was handed over to the family on Saturday morning after two autopsies were performed on her based on the Madras HC orders. On Saturday, the body of the girl was handed at Kallakurichi Government Hospital and from there, the family brought the body with full police escort to Periyanesalur in Cuddalore. At 11 Am, the last rites started for the girl after which she was laid to rest.
The police permitted only the family members, relatives and villagers for paying last respect to the girl. TN Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development CV Ganesan was also present during the burial.

The family accepted the body after Madras HC questioned the delay of parents in accepting the body and told them to get it for last rites on Saturday. The HC also said that a team of Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry doctors will study the autopsy and submit a report.

Based on the order, JIPMER will study in detail the autopsy records of the class 12 student who died under mysterious circumstances on July 13 from the hostel of a private residential school in Kallakurichi, and submit a final report in a month's time.
