Kallakurichi Student Death: Parents Agree To Receive Body On July 23, Counsel Informs Madras HC
Kallakurichi Student Death: Earlier, Madras HC told the parents of the deceased girl to receive the body before 11 am on Saturday.
Chennai: The parents of the deceased Class 12 girl have agreed to receive her body on Saturday to perform last rites, counsel R Sankarasubbu informed Madras High Court on Friday. The parents agreed to accept the body of the girl who died under mysterious circumstances after the HC asked them the reason for delaying the body and told them to receive the corpse before 11 am on Saturday.
According to a tweet by ANI, the Madras HC was hearing a plea moved by the victim’s father seeking another postmortem with a medical expert of his choice on Friday.
However, the Madras HC ordered that a three-doctor panel of Puducherry's Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research will assess the autopsy reports.

The Court then asked the parents the reason for them to delay getting the body. It then told the girl’s parents to receive her body before 11 am on Saturday.
Following this, counsel R Sankarasubbu informed Madras High Court that the deceased girl's parents have agreed to receive her body on July 23 and perform her last rites by Saturday evening itself.

The case pertains to the mysterious death of a Class 12 girl at a hotel of a residential school in Kallakurichi on last Sunday. The first autopsy revealed that the girl died of hemorrhage and shock due to multiple injuries.
