The order was passed by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav.
Earlier, advocate Siddhant Kumar appearing for ECI said that the commission will take a call on the representation within 10 days. It also allowed O Panneerselvam's counsel to mention its grievances before ECI.
The plea, filed through advocates Balaji Srinivasan, K Gowtham Kumar and Shiva Krishnamurti, sought direction from the ECI to consider the representations made by the petitioners and upload the latest amended bylaws of July 11, 2022.
In July 2022, AIADMK amended its bye-laws expelling O Panneerselvam from the party. In the same meeting, Edappadi K Palaniswami was elevated as the interim general secretary of AIADMK.
The AIADMK moved the petition after the ECI announced the schedule for Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023.
In the plea, the AIADMK said that the delay of ECI to upload the latest bylaws on the website will impact the democratic fabric. As a recognised party in Karnataka, the party despite having significant presence in the state will be unable to participate in the elections.
