Chennai: Seven-Year-Old Girl Attacked By Cow While Returning Home At MMDA Colony

The horrific video revealed that the cow lifted Ayesha with the horns, threw her on the road, and stamped the girl with its leg.

A seven-year-old school girl was injured in an attack by a cow at MMDA colony in Chennai on Wednesday. The incident took place while she was returning home from school. The CCTV footage of the incident has also gone viral on social media. The girl identified as Ayesha was returning with her younger brother Ummar and her mother in R Block of MMDA colony. She was walking first while her mother and brother followed her.

There were two cows walking in front of her and while she neared a cow, it suddenly turned around and started to attack her. It threw her on the ground, stamped and hurt her, said a report on DT NEXT.

The video revealed that the cow lifted Ayesha with the horns and threw her on the road. It then stamped the girl with its leg multiple times.

The onlookers immediately rushed to help the girl. However, they were forced to put much effort to stop the animal.

The onlookers then rushed him to a private hospital. She was administered five stitches on her head and the treatment is still on.

The mother of the girl then registered a complaint with Arumbakkam police. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against cow owner Vivek of MGR Street in MMDA colony.

Chennai Commissioner Radhakrishnan said, "We have the cow in observation at Perumbur. We are monitoring the health and trying to find out if the cow is suffering from any health issues."

"I request the owners to keep the cows out of Chennai. This is the reason why a milk farm was set up at Madhavaram. Through this, I strongly warn the owners and we can impound the cow for many years and seize it from the owner," he said.
