Army Soldier Death: BJP To Hold Candle Light March To War Memorial Today, Says Narayanan Thirupathy
Over a week has passed but there is no statement from DMK or CM MK Stalin, BJP's Narayanan Thirupathy said.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP vice president Narayanan Thirupathy criticized the DMK government for its silence over the death of an army man after an attack by a mob led by DMK councilor in the state on Monday. He also announced a protest march by BJP.
On Tuesday, Narayanan Thirupathy, TN BJP VP said, “Over a week has passed but there is no statement from DMK or CM MK Stalin. An Army man was killed by a DMK councilor. DMK has been trying to threaten the opposition. They are trying to provoke their party men to attack others who are against the government.”

“DMK has been saying that we are in power, we can do whatever we want. So we are having a hunger strike today (Tuesday) and in the evening we are having a candle march. We will go to the war memorial in memory of the deceased,” he said.

Earlier, Sports and Youth Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin who was asked about the soldier's death said, " He (DMK councillor) has been arrested now, he is in jail...action has been taken."
An army soldier, Prabhu, was beaten to death by a DMK councillor over washing clothes near a water tank in Krishnagiri. The soldier was attacked by the mob including DMK councillor on February 8 and he died without responding to treatment on February 15. However, from the time the incident came to light, DMK members refrained from commenting on it.
