AIADMK Not Afraid Of False Accusations: Oppn Leader Palaniswami After Budget Session Walk Out

The opposition leaders of AIADMK have accused DMK government for not fulfilling the promises made ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiaga Rajan on Friday presented the budget for the financial year 2021-2022. For the first time in the history of the legislature, a paperless e-budget has been tabled. The budget began by quoting the thread that begins with composition and construction. Even before the budget speech began, AIADMK members chanted slogans and walked out.

The opposition leaders of AIADMK have accused DMK government for not fulfilling the promises made by the ruling government which were assured before the assembly election.

After walking out of the Assembly, Opposition leader Edapaddi K Palaniswami said, "DMK has deceived people by assuring non-practical promising. AIADMK is not afraid of wrong false accusations made by the ruling government. We strongly condemn the filing of false cases against our ministers."

Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiaga Rajan start the budget speech, "a revised budget has been prepared to lay a strong foundation in 6 months. We have promised the people that we will regulate the finances of the state. Election promises will be prioritized and implemented gradually.”

MLAs are aware of this e-budget through computer screen and portable tab. It is noteworthy that Speaker M. Appavu had earlier said that trainings on this would be given to the legislators. The Finance Minister had recently released a white paper on government finances. Meanwhile, MK Stalin-led government has tabled a budget report in parliament today. People are waiting for the DMK to announce its election promises and announce new plans.

The budget, which will be tabled in the midst of the Corona catastrophe, raises eyebrows as to whether the budget will address various issues, such as the impact of the first wave of corona on the economy, the impact on production in various sectors, and the impact on employment.

Minister MRK Panneerselvam will present the agriculture budget tomorrow. The assembly session, which begins with the budget speech, is scheduled to run for a total of 29 days until September 21.
