ABP CVoter Lok Sabha Exit Poll 2024: I.N.D.I.A Bloc Predicted For Clean Sweep In Tamil Nadu

The ABP CVoter Exit Poll results have revealed 0-2 seats gain for BJP alliance while 0 seats for AIADMK alliance in Tamil Nadu.

As the voting for the Lok Sabha elections concludes, Tamil Nadu has emerged as the epicenter of a heated political showdown. Key constituencies such as Chennai (South), Coimbatore and Virudhunagar are witnessing intense battles for supremacy. While the traditional Dravidian parties strive to uphold their legacy, the BJP is making a concerted effort to disrupt the voteshare and establish a foothold in the land of Tamils.

The ABP CVoter Exit poll results have revealed 0-2 seats gain for BJP alliance while 0 seats for AIADMK alliance. The I.N.D.I.A bloc is predicted to sweep the state by winning 36-28 seats.

Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha Election 2024

Tamil Nadu boasts 39 parliamentary seats and the competition is fierce among the dominant regional parties, namely Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).

The DMK, a crucial component of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, has formed a formidable coalition with several parties including Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi, Indian National Congress (INC), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK). Of 39 constituencies, the DMK has fielded 21 candidates while major alliance partner INC has fielded candidates from 9 seats. The CPI, CPM and VCK contested 2 seats while ER Eswaran's Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi, MDMK and Indian Union Muslim League contested 1 seat each.

On the other hand, AIADMK has forged its own alliance with Krishnasamy's Puthiya Tamilagam, Premalatha Vijayakant's Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), and the Social Democratic Party of India. With 32 seats contested by the AIADMK itself, the alliance is determined to challenge the DMK's dominance.

Amidst the regional players, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is making a concerted effort to gain ground in the state. Forming an alliance with several smaller parties including Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi, Inthiya Makkal Kalvi Munnetra Kazhagam, Puthiya Needhi Katchi, Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, Pattali Makkal Katchi, Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar), and Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam, the BJP alone is contesting 19 seats.

This election marks a significant shift for the BJP, which is contesting alone after severing ties with the AIADMK last year.

In the previous Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, the DMK secured an overwhelming victory, clinching 38 out of 39 seats. The lone seat won by the AIADMK was in Theni, secured by O P Raveendranath, son of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.
