2 DMK Functionaries Arrested For Harassing Woman Cop During Party Event
DMK also suspended two functionaries Praveen and Ekkambaram from DMK youth wing for anti-party activities.
Chennai: Two DMK functionaries were arrested by Chennai police on Wednesday for misbehaving with woman police last week. The two DMK functionaries allegedly harassed a Chennai police constable during DMK public meeting.
According to ANI, police officials said, “DMK's two functionaries Praveen and Ekkambaram arrested by Chennai Police and sent to judicial custody. The case was registered u/s 353,354 IPC r/w 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 1998.”

Two DMK functionaries allegedly harassed a Chennai police constable during DMK public meeting
Both of them were DMK party's youth wing functionaries.
Meanwhile, DMK also suspended its two functionaries Praveen and Ekkambaram from the DMK Youth wing for anti-party activities.
On December 31, two DMK functionaries harassed a woman police personnel while she was on duty during a public meeting of the party at Virugambakkam.
The incident took place while senior DMK leaders including Kanimozhi, Thamizhachi Thangapandian, Ma Subramaniam and MLA Prabhakar Raja were taking part in the event.
The event was conducted to celebrate the centenary year of former DMK general secretary Anbazhagan.
Following the harassment, the woman gave a complaint to the Valasaravakkam police station against the duo.

In the complaint, the cop said that she was harassed by two DMK youth wing members identified as Praveen and Ekambaram and when police tried to arrest the duo they were stopped by DMK members, as per ANI.
However, on Tuesday, the woman cop withdrew her complaint after the duo tendered an apology. Yet, still action was taken against the culprits on Wednesday.
