Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue: CM Dhami Offers Prayers At Temple Built At Site Amid Ongoing Ops

Uttarakhand CM Dhami reached Silkyara Tunnel and offered prayers at a temple that has been built at the main entrance of the tunnel, where rescue operations are underway.

Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue Ops: Amid the rescue operations to evacuate the 41 workers trapped after a part of an under-construction tunnel collapsed in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Silkyara Tunnel (Uttarakashi) and offered prayers at a temple that has been built at the main entrance of the tunnel, where rescue operations to bring out the trapped workers are underway.

PM Modi Speaks To CM Dhami, Takes Stock Of Situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke with Uttarakhand CM Dhami over the phone and took stock of the ongoing operations in the Silkyara tunnel. In a post of X (in Hindi), Dhami said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi called today and sought information about the ongoing rescue operation to safely take out the workers trapped in the under construction tunnel in Silkyara, Uttarkashi...

"The Prime Minister was also informed about the rescue operation being conducted on a war footing in coordination with central agencies, international experts and the state administration."

Dhami further said, "The Prime Minister was also informed about the steps taken to ensure the arrangement of doctors, ambulance, heli service and temporary hospital for the treatment and care of the workers on the spot and to preparations at AIIMS Rishikesh in case of any emergency.

"Also conveyed to the Prime Minister about the continuous talks with the labour brothers and their families and their welfare and also informed about my own monitoring of the rescue operations while staying in Uttarkashi.

Rescue Operation At Its Final Stages: CM Dhami

Speaking about the search operations, Dhami said that the rescue operation is in its final stages. He further said that there are some obstacles, but hopefully the workers will be rescued as early as possible.

"45 metres of pipeline has been laid through auger machine. The rescue is at its final stages. There are some obstacles,. but I hope that the workers are rescued as early as possible. Post-rescue preparations have been done. Ambulances and Hospitals are ready for their check-up and treatment. PM Modi is taking updates on the rescue every single day. He took the update today as well. Our experts are working day and night to rescue the workers," Dhami said.
