Hapur News: Car Driver Breaks Toll Gate, Tries To Run Over Toll Plaza Worker

Hapur News: In a shocking incident of road rage, a car driver callously mowed down a toll plaza worker at Pilkhuwa toll plaza near Hapur, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday (August 6). The horrifying scene, captured on CCTV, shows the driver breaking the toll gate and attempting to escape without paying the toll fee. The toll plaza employee chased the car, but the driver managed to flee without settling the dues.

In a chilling turn of events, the car driver returned to the toll plaza located on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, and intentionally rammed into the employee who had attempted to stop him. The collision resulted in the toll worker being dragged for a distance by the car.

The injured toll plaza staffer has been identified as Shekhar Yadav. Police said an FIR has been registered on charges of attempt to murder against the unidentified driver. 

According to a Hindustan Times report, the white Brezza car driven by the accused was bearing a Noida registration number and was headed towards Hapur.

Authorities have been swift to respond to the distressing incident. Varun Mishra, DCP of Pilkhua Circle, confirmed that a case has been registered, and efforts are underway to apprehend the culprit responsible for the act. The condition of the toll plaza employee remains unknown at this time.

"A driver purposefully rammed his car into a Chhajarsi Toll Plaza employee. A case has been filed, and the accused will be apprehended as soon as possible...," DCP of Pilkhua Circle was quoted as saying by ANI. 

“We have traced the car and it is a Brezza. The car driver is from Noida and our teams are trying to trace him. The investigation is on and the driver will be arrested soon. We have information that the driver had come to meet his relatives in Hapur,” the HT report quoted Neeraj Kumar, the Station house officer (SHO) of the Pilkhuwa police station, as saying. 

The incident sheds light on a concerning trend of toll plaza violence that has been increasingly reported in recent times.
