UP Election 2022: Yogi Adityanath To File Nomination From Gorakhpur Today
The Bharatiya Janata Party on January 15, announced that Yogi Adityanath will contest from the Gorakhpur seat.
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will file his nomination for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from Gorakhpur constituency today. He will be accompanied by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Adityanath will file his nomination at 11:40 pm on Friday, reports news agency ANI.
Star campaigner for Uttar Pradesh, Amit Shah will address a public rally at Maharana Pratap Inter College at 10:50 am in Gorakhpur today after which he will accompany Yogi Adityanath during his nomination.
It was being speculated that Yogi Adityanath will contest the UP Assembly election from Ayodhya constituency, but the Bharatiya Janata Party on January 15, announced that he will contest from the Gorakhpur seat. BJP was the first party to announce Yogi Adityanath as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the UP Assembly Election.
After the announcement of Adityanath’s candidature was announced by the BJP, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also declared that he will contest the upcoming election from Karhal seat in the Mainpuri constituency.
Both Adityanath and Akhilesh will be contesting the Assembly elections for the first time as both of them took the route through Legislative Council to become Chief Ministers of the state.
Uttar Pradesh will undergo Assembly polls in seven phases starting from February 10. The last and final phase of the election will take place on March 7 after which the votes will be counted on March 10.
