Due to the strike of ambulance drivers in Unnao, the pregnant woman could not be taken to the hospital on time. The woman had to give birth at home, but later her health started deteriorating.
Unnao: A pregnant woman lost her life due to the ambulance drivers' strike in the Unnao district of UP. The woman then had to given birth at home, due to which her condition worsened. Due to the strike of the ambulance drivers, the woman could not reach the hospital on time and then died.
The case is of Rasul Pur village of the Bangarmau area. Suresh told that his 30-year-old wife Sunita was suffering from labour pain. When they called for an ambulance they were told that due to the strike the vehicle was not available. Sunita was forced to deliver the baby at home but due to lack of necessary after treatment, Sunita's condition deteriorated.
Suresh reached the government hospital in Ganj Moradabad with his wife by renting a private vehicle. Staff nurse Neelam did not admit his wife to the hospital and advised the husband to take her someplace else. Sunita was then taken to a private hospital, but the doctors did not admit her as they could not see any signs of movement in her body As a result, she died due to lack of treatment.
CMO Doctor Satya Prakash told that a delivery case had come to PHC. There is a staff nurse who attended to her but by the time our team reached the patient was taken to other place.
