One Dead, Several Feared Trapped After Cold Storage Building Collapses In Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal: Report
The incident took place around 12 pm when the roof of the cold storage building collapsed. Five people have been rescued so far while a body has been pulled out of the debris.
New Delhi: One person was killed and over 20 are feared trapped after the roof of a cold storage building collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district on Thursday, news agency PTI reported.
According to SDM Chandausi, Ramkesh Dhama, the roof of AR cold storage on Islam Nagar Road in Mai village caved in and there is a possibility of some people being trapped under the rubble. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the administration along with two teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the official said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to carry out immediate relief and rescue work.
"In view of the accident in the cold storage in Chandausi district of Sambhal, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the district administration officials, SDRF and NDRF teams to conduct immediate relief and rescue work by reaching the spot," the CM Office tweeted.

The incident took place around 12 pm when the roof of the cold storage building collapsed. Five people have been rescued so far while a body has been pulled out, as per a report by India Today.
According to IANS report, the local people have already reached the village and are helping in the rescue operation.
Officials said that after the collapse of the cold storage building, an ammonia gas leak has also been reported. The fire department team has reached the spot and plugged the leak.
Seven to eight JCB machines are working to clear the debris and rescue those buried under it.
