Budaun Double Murder Accused Came To Ask For Money, Says FIR. SP, BJP Trade Charges: Top Points

As per the FIR registered in the Budaun double murder case, the accused came to the deceased home to ask for money for his wife's delivery.

The Budaun police on Wednesday shared the details of the FIR lodged in connection with the double murder case where a barber hacked two children to death and hurt a third one in the district's Baba Colony. The accused Sajid entered the house of the victim and killed the two siblings, aged 11 and 6 in an axe attack after which the situation remained tense in the area as the agitated locals created a ruckus and vandalised and set fire to vehicles.

Sajid was later killed in a police encounter.

The police said that the accused reached the house of the victim to ask for money and when the mother of the deceased children went to take the money, Sajid and his brother Javed took the children to the terrace and killed them.

Meanwhile, political parties also indulged in trading charges against each other with the Samajwadi Party claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party wanted to win the election by creating communal tension in the state. The saffron camp responded by saying that the SP is giving protection to the accused.

  • The police registered an FIR in connection with the case based on a complaint by the father of the deceased. As per the FIR, Sajid told the mother of the deceased that he wanted money as his wife was about to deliver a child.
  • The accused said he was feeling unwell and wanted to go for a walk on the terrace and took the complainant's son along with him and called his brother Javed also on the terrace.
  • When the complainant's wife returned, she saw Sajid and Javed with a knife in their hands. Sajid also tried to attack the surviving son and he sustained injuries. Both were running away and Sajid told the mother that today he had completed his work," as per the FIR.
  • Budaun Senior Superintendent of Police, Alok Priyadarshi told news agency ANI that the accused Sajid entered the house at around 7:30 pm on Tuesday and went to the terrace.
  • "He attacked the two children and murdered them. He then came down where the crowd tried to hold him back but he escaped...Police teams swung into action when they got to know that the accused had escaped...The accused fired at the police and was killed in retaliatory fire. The murder weapon and the revolver have been recovered," said the police official.
  • Priyadarshi also said that the accused had asked for Rs 5,000 from the father of the deceased children.
  • The Samajwadi Party targeted the ruling BJP in the state saying the party was carrying out such incidents to win elections by creating riots and communal tension in UP.
  • The SP said that the saffron party was resorting to religious disputes and fights because it has lost on the real issues of the people.
  • Meanwhile, the BJP accused the SP of giving protection to the criminals.
  • Had SP been in power, the criminals would have been protected, said BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi adding that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
  • UP Deputy Chief Minister Kehsav Prasad Maurya trained guns on SP saying if there is any morality left then they should not do politics over the case. "Every child of UP knows the relation between SP and criminals," he said.
  • Congress demanded strict action in the case. Party MP Pramod Kumar said, "I am extremely sad. I don't have enough words to condemn this incident. I want to say one thing stringent action must be taken against the culprits and those who supported them..."
