Big Statement By Rakesh Tikait, Says Won’t Contest Elections

Rakesh Tikait has clarified that he has no intention of contesting elections. Tikait has also warned political parties against using his photos on political hoardings.

Rakesh Tikait News: National spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), Rakesh Tikait has cleared the air around his participation in the elections by saying that he has no intention of contesting elections. Tikait has also warned political parties against using his photos on political hoardings.

Tikait was addressing the farmers in his village Sisauli, late on Wednesday night where he returned after a 383-day long protest. He reiterated that the struggle of farmers will be etched in golden letters. “Our struggle will be written in golden letters. I will continue my fight for the rights of farmers till my last breath,” he said.

Taikait reached Sisauli accompanied by a huge procession of his supporters with flowers being showered over him all along the rally. To celebrate his return and the victory of the farmers, laddoos were distributed at the rally at every crossing on the Meerut-Muzaffarnagar highway. And ‘langars’ were organised at every 25 kilometers from Ghazipur border to Muzaffarnagar.

Tikait Had Not Gone Home Since The Protest Began

Tikait's wife Sunita Devi lit hundreds of earthen lamps to welcome him to their house in Jaat Colony. “My husband is returning home today after 383 days. There will be no less diyas than there should be for his welcome. Just as Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya, my Ram is also coming home today,” she told reporters. Tikait had not gone home since the farmers' protest had begun.
