Air Pollution: CM Yogi Asks Officials To Take These Measures To Curb Poor AQI In Delhi-NCR

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday held a high level meeting with officials over the issue of pollution in National Capital Region (NCR) and UP districts.

As per the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Chief Minister Yogi asked the officials to urge the people to use public vehicles instead of private transport during this time. He also directed the officials to immediately contact the dictrict agricultural officers who would get in touch with the farmers to check stubble burning.
Stubble burning in neighbouring states of Delhi-NCR has been a major source of pollution every year.

In fact, the Supreme Court had on Monday directed the Central Government to hold an 'emergency meeting' with Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and sought an action plan to check the air pollution issue over Delhi-NCR.
Meanwhile, Noida and Gurugram reported a drop in pollution levels on Tuesday. Noida recorded Air Quality Index (AQI) 362 taking it to 'Very Poor' category, while the AQI in Gurugram was 322 and it stood at 'Very Poor' category, according to the System of Air Quality And Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
