Actor and politician Prakash Raj has responded to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s recent comments on the Hindi language. Taking to social media platform X, Prakash Raj clarified that opposing the imposition of Hindi does not equate to hatred for the language but is instead about preserving one’s mother tongue and cultural identity.
"Saying 'Don't force your Hindi language on us' is not hating another language, it's about protecting our mother tongue and our self-respect. Someone please tell Pawan Kalyan garu," Prakash Raj wrote in his post.
"మీ హిందీ భాషను మా మీద రుద్దకండి", అని చెప్పడం ఇంకో భాషను ద్వేషించడం కాదు, “ స్వాభిమానంతో మా మాతృభాషను, మా తల్లిని కాపాడుకోవడం", అని పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారికి ఎవరైనా చెప్పండి please... 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 #justasking

His response comes amid an ongoing national debate over allegations that the central government is promoting Hindi at the expense of regional languages. The discussion resurfaced following Pawan Kalyan’s speech at the Jana Sena Party’s foundation day event, where he addressed the controversy surrounding Hindi imposition, particularly in Tamil Nadu.
Pawan Kalyan's Speech
During his speech, Pawan Kalyan emphasised the equal importance of all Indian languages and questioned why Tamil films are dubbed into Hindi if Tamil Nadu is opposed to the language. He also stressed that attitudes of linguistic animosity must change.
Pawan Kalyan stated that true secularism should be practiced in its genuine spirit, not for the sake of vote-bank politics. He emphasised his deep commitment to the nation, declaring that he is even willing to lay down his life for Bharat.
Kalyan also urged discussions on delimitation, addressing concerns from certain politicians who fear that some states may lose their Lok Sabha MP seats.
Prakash Raj’s remarks have since gained significant traction on social media, reigniting conversations around language, culture, and regional identity in India.
