Former Minister MR Vijayabhaskar was arrested from Kerala in connection with a land grab case on Tuesday. The case pertains to the illegal registration of 22 acres of land in Karur, belonging to a person named Prakash, using forged documents.

According to ANI, Peechi Police said, "Tamil Nadu CB-CID Police has arrested former Tamil Nadu transport minister MR Vijayabhaskar from Thrissur allegedly in connection with a land scam. He was staying in a rented house at Peechi police station limit in Thrissur, Kerala."

The Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) police had formed five special teams to track and apprehend him, according to a report on ABP Nadu.

During the operation, Vijayabhaskar and his cousin Praveen were surrounded and arrested by the police. Currently, steps are being taken to bring them back to Tamil Nadu for further investigation, as per the report.

Subsequently, the Karur town police registered a case against the seven persons in June.

Meanwhile, MR Vijayabhaskar served as the Transport Minister during the AIADMK regime.
